I made this with regular rice, to make it more special, Basmati rice can also be opted. This recipe requires minimal ingredients too.
Ingredients:Rice - 1 Cup
Green Peas - 1/2 Cup
Onion - 1
Ginger Garlic Paste - 2 tsp
Green Chilies - 2
Curd / Yogurt - 2 tbsp
Cinnamon - 1"
Bay Leaf - 1
Cloves - 2
Butter - 1 tsp
Cooking Oil - 2 tbsp
Water - 2 Cups
Salt to taste
How to make:
Wash and clean peas, chop onion, slit green chilies. Grind ginger and garlic together.
In the cooker add butter and cooking oil together, followed by bay leaf, cinnamon and cloves. Wait till it gets roasted in the oil.
Then add chopped onion, chilies, ginger garlic paste, and saute till the onion becomes soft and tender.
Then add peas and saute for 2 min, and curd and 2 Cups of water.
Add salt and rice. Test the salt by tasting few drops of this water mixture and adjust accordingly. Close the cooker lid and cook it in high flame for a whistle and simmer flame for 5-8 min, or till the rice gets cooked completely.
Once the pressure in the pressure cooker releases. Open it and serve with a tangy vegetable salad or raitha.
