Spicy pomodoro sauce
Spicy Pomodoro sauce: Tangy, savory, with a rich tomato aroma. Mild heat, light and delicious. Made with pasta, tomatoes, olive oil, basil, and salt. Cooked and served hot.
- 1 cup pasta - 4 tomatoes - 2 tablespoons olive oil - 4 basil leaves (fresh) - 2 teaspoons salt
Boil water, add pasta, cook following package instructions, strain, set aside.
Make a small 'X' at the bottom of each tomato. Boil them in the same water for 8 minutes. Strain, peel, and remove the core.
Mash or blend tomatoes. Heat olive oil, add tomato sauce, cook until thickened.
Add salt to taste. Add the cooked pasta and sprinkle with fresh basil leaves. Serve hot.
