In a pan, add jaggery and water. Allow it to boil till jaggery melts completely. Then sieve it for any impurities.
Again boil till hard ball consistency. To test this stage, pour little drops of jaggery mix on to a bowl of water if the jaggery settles down and if you could make a ball out of this settled down jaggery. Then it is an ideal time to remove it from the fire and keep aside.
Mix crispy puffed rice on to the jaggery syrup and combine them well.
When you can bear the heat, wet your hands with ghee and start making balls. Tighten them a little to form even spherical balls.
Store Pori Urundai in air tight container.
Notes
Can stay good even for a week. Serve them as a snack for the kids and feel good for serving them with iron rich food.
