Brown Rice Puttu Recipe from my sister in law. OMG, we fell in love with the texture of Puttu Brown Rice, its mild sweetness, it was very soft, fluffy. It made me think, why I haven't come across this recipe so far.

Ingredients
For the jaggery syrup

cup
jaggery
¼
cup
water
1
cardamom
For the puttu
11/2
cup
brown rice flour
/ Puttu Powder
¼
teaspoon
salt

teaspoon
ghee
¼
cup
grated coconut
Instructions
For the jaggery syrup
Over medium heat, in a small pan, add jaggery, water, and crushed cardamom.
Bring it to boil and stir till jaggery dissolves.
Strain and set aside. Remove the impurities.
For steaming
In a mixing jar, add rice flour, salt and sprinkle little water to moisture the flour. Smash the tiny lumps to make it as fine flour.
Steam the flour for 5 minutes in an idli pot or any other steamer or puttu maker too.
For making puttu
In a mixing bowl, add the steamed flour, jaggery syrup, ghee, and grated coconut.
Mix and serve the puttu.
