The Ingredients

To make tomato soup from tomato paste, we need,

  • Tomato paste. This is store-bought, readymade tomato paste. You can use any of your favorite brands.
  • Garlic: Crush fresh garlic with the back of the knife.
  • Almond milk: I have added almond milk to subtly down the bold taste of the tomato.
  • Basil. Brings in rich flavors, a flavoring agent here.

How To Make Tomato Soup From Tomato Paste?

  • Over medium heat, place a soup pot, and add vegetable oil and gently crushed garlic.
  • Allow it to sizzle on medium heat until fragrant, then add tomato paste, almond milk, and water. Bring it to a boil.
  • Then, turn the heat to low and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Discard the garlic chunk. Stir in salt, crushed black pepper, dried basil, and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy!

  • You can store the leftovers in the refrigerator for about three days in an air-tight container.

Ingredients

  • ½ teaspoon vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic gently crushed
  • 6 oz tomato paste /canned tomato paste
  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 cup water
  • ¾ teaspoon salt or as required
  • 1 teaspoon whole black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon olive oil optional

Instructions

  1. Over medium heat, in a big pot, add vegetable oil and gently crushed garlic.
  2. Allow it to sizzle in medium flame until it is fragrant.
  3. Then add tomato paste, almond milk and water. Bring it to boil.
  4. Then simmer the flame for 10 minutes.
  5. Discard the garlic chunk.
  6. Now stir in salt, crushed black pepper, dried basil and drizzle in olive oil.
  7. And transfer to serving bowl and enjoy!

Notes

  • Drizzling olive oil is optional. But it can also be substituted with butter.
  • Adjust the consistency with water.
  • If the soup is thick add water and adjusts the thickness.
  • If it thin, allow it to cook further until it reached preferred thickness.

  2. Loved the recipe! I only had whole milk so I used it and it did curdle a bit but the taste was still delicious. It made for a thicker soup and tasted like I had added cheese. So I honestly would used whole milk again.

  3. Tasted great with few ingredients. Only had spices browned in a little butter (minced garlic and garlic powder, onion powder, lots of black pepper and salt), a rind of Parmesan and tomato paste, and kefir (blueberry) instead of almond milk. Adjusted kefir by adding water to bottle. Strained into soup bowl with a few dashes of hot sauce (no kids in house) and it fit the bill.
