Jalapeno Ranch

This is the homemade version of Chuy's Jalapeno Ranch: packed with fresh jalapeno flavors and made in just 5 minutes. Simply cut the jalapeno, blend it with mayonnaise, and ENJOY!

Spoonful of jalapeno ranch sauce ready for dipping.

This is the copycat version of the popular Tex-Mex restaurant, Chuy's Jalapeno Ranch.

My nearest Chuy's is an hour and 30 minutes away, so whenever I miss their spicy jalapeno-flavored ranch, I whip it up at home.

The good news is, it takes just 5 minutes to recreate their version. It's creamy, rich, spicy, and tangy-the way every spicy lover prefers.

I love smearing this jalapeno ranch over sandwiches, salads, or dunking spicy chicken wings (how about this blackened Mahi Mahi)? With every option, this sauce not only enhances the main dish but also gives it a new look!

Why You'll Love This Recipe?

⭐️Creamy and flavorful.

⭐️Most importantly, it's homemade and multi-purpose.

⭐️ Budget-friendly!

Ingredients

  • Sour cream: I have used the original sour cream. However, you may choose light sour cream to lower the fat. You can also swap it entirely with Greek yogurt as a lighter alternative.
  • Mayonnaise: It provides a creamy and luscious texture. You can substitute light mayonnaise or avocado oil mayo.
  • Jalapeno: Always wear gloves if you have sensitive skin. Remove the seeds and the center rib for mild heat. However, you can retain the seeds and add them later if you prefer to intensify the heat level.
  • Lime juice gives jalapeno ranch depth and freshness, making the dressing sauce taste wholesome.
  • Onion and garlic powder serve as flavor enhancers.

Leftovers

Refrigerate the leftover jalapeno ranch in an airtight container for two days.

This dipping sauce does not store well in the freezer, as the mayonnaise in this jalapeno ranch separates once frozen and thawed.

♨️How To Adjust The Heat?

To reduce the heat, remove and set aside the seeds and ribs of the jalapeno. You can add them later, little by little, until they match your heat tolerance.

Add the seeds and extra jalapeno, or sprinkle in cayenne pepper for more heat.
