Personally, I think a Rosemary Tea recipe is an absolute must for this winter season. Add the rosemary and lemon juice as per this recipe to hot water, and this delicious, aromatic tea is ready to enjoy in minutes.

Though it is not officially winter here in Pennsylvania, we have already started feeling the wintertime. Apart from pulling throws and jackets from the rear side of the closet, we made this herbal tea(we also enjoy fennel tea) to welcome the winter here.

A few years ago, my friend introduced me to this rosemary tea recipe, and since then, it has become one of my routine activities in this kind of cold weather.

No matter what we cook, a small sprig of rosemary brings an extraordinary aroma that anyone will fall in love with.

Why You'll Love This Recipe?

⭐️A cozy drink!

⭐️It is super easy to make and ready in under 10 minutes.

⭐️Flavorful in every sip!

Ingredients

  • Rosemary: Fresh rosemary yields a refreshing aroma; however, feel free to use dried rosemary (I get mine from the small plant in my backyard).
  • Honey: Optionally, you can sweeten this tea with natural sweeteners like agave nectar.
  • Lemon juice: Lemon juice complements the taste of the honey; feel free to swap this for lime juice or with lemon crystals.

How To Make Rosemary Tea?

  1. Bring two cups of water to a boil.
  2. Stir a small sprig of rosemary. Remove it from the heat.
  3. Close the lid(to allow the fresh herb to infuse the water) for 10-15 minutes.
  4. Stir in lemon juice and honey.
  5. Strain the liquid and transfer it to serving glasses.

Storage & Reheating

This tea tastes fabulous when made and served fresh or chilled. However, if you have leftovers,

  • Refrigerate: You can store them in an airtight container for two days.
  • Freezer: You can freeze this tea in the ice cube trays.
  • To defrost: To thaw, place them in the refrigerator for up to 8 hours and serve as chilled.
  • Reheating: You can slightly warm over a stovetop or microwave.

The Variations

This tea with rosemary flavors is essential and has many choices for improving and enhancing(like this jalapeno mojito). Keep experimenting with the different ingredients until you find your soul hearted.

Try infusing the rosemary tea with a teaspoon of crushed ginger, a sprig of mint leaves, and a couple of basil leaves into the hot tea before serving.

FAQ

How to make this rosemary tea in the microwave?

Heat water in a microwave-safe bowl for 45 seconds to 1 minute. Remove the bowl from the microwave and add the rosemary leaves. Set aside for 10 minutes until the water is infused with the flavors. Stir in lemon juice and honey! And enjoy!

How to make this tea with tea infusers?

Fill the infusers with rosemary and place them in a cup of hot water. Wait for 10 minutes, and then remove the infuser. Stir in lemon juice and honey! And Enjoy!

Can I use dried rosemary instead of fresh?

Yes, you can use dried rosemary, but add about one teaspoon for two cups of water, as the dried herbs have a concentrated flavor.

Can I drink rosemary tea cold?

Absolutely! Rosemary tea tastes excellent when served chilled. Once the tea cools to room temperature, place it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. And serve chilled!

I have a huge rosemary bush in my garden that seems to survive our winters here in Northern Italy. Maybe it's not as cold here as where you are. I add rosemary to so many dishes but never thought to make tea with it. Definitely going to try this!
