About this recipe

Its hot, sweet and with bright tropical flavors. Perfect to transform as a wing sauce, dip, dressing, or topping. Make and discover yours favorite way of relishing!

Summer brings more colors and joy together. And pineapple and the jalapeno are few to name them. Toss this pineapple jalapeno sauce to your protein to enhance to a delectable meal.

How does this hot sauce tastes like?

This recipe is a beautiful blend with the right amount of sweet. sour, and mildly hot with the intense flavors of pineapple , jalapeno.

I did mention it is mildly hot as I added only the jalapeno's flesh. I removed the innards and the seeds to keep the heat low. But you may increase the heat by adding the seeds. We will discuss this more in detail below.

The key ingredients and their possible substitutions

Pineapple. Since these are in season now, I used as fresh. I live in central Pensylvania, and get fresh pineapple throughout the year in the store. These are naturally with intense flavors, and tastes sweet and sauce. Which works great in this sauce.

Instead, you may substitute with frozen pineapples.

Jalapeno. Added for its heat and bold flavors in this pineapple jalapeno sauce. When this meets with the pineapple, the end results are incredible. You may use the fresh or preserved ones like this roasted jalapeno.

Vinegar. Whtie vinegar are best to use to preserve the natural aroma of our key ingredients. Apple cider vinegar is a good substitute, but it does coounteracts with the pineapple's delegate aroma.

Lemon juice. This brings together the sourness of the pineapple and the vinegar. You may skip using it, as it does not affect the taste adversely.

Sweet onion. Sweet onion is the best in creating the texture and neutralising the intense sourness. However, yellow onion is equally good, next to red onions.

Garlic cloves. One of the key ingredient that cannot be missed or substituted. A small quantity does huge magic in here. I would not recommend substituting with garlic flakes or garlic powder.

How to make?

Pineapple jalapeno sauce is quick to make under 10 minutes. The recipe is simple and straightforward.

Remove the skin and cut the pineapple into smaller chunks.

Half the jalapeno, and remove the seeds and the pith. Reserve the seeds, as you may need it to increase the heat.

In a blender, add pineapple chunks, jalapeno flesh, vinegar, sweet onion, lemon juice, garlic, and salt.

Blend it coarsely.

Transfer and enjoy.

Make ahead and storing options

Make ahead. Prep the ingredients and refrigerate them separately in air sealed containers. Blend just before serving.

Room temperature. Its fabulous to use up to 5-6 hours in the room temperature. In fact, the pineapple jalapeno sauce gets enhances when it sits for 2 hours.

Refrigerator.  Perfect to use within 2 days. Always prefer a air tight container to avoid any external contaminations.

Freezer. This pineapple jalapeno sauce is a freezer friendly recipe. Store the leftover in a ziplock bags. And it is good for 2 months.

Pro tips. Wear gloves while deseeding the jalapenos. These are hot peppers and gives out a burning sensations when get in contact with the skin.

Dipping sauce. This pineapple jalapeno sauce is excellent to serve as a dipping sauce for the spicy appetizers.

Slaw. Toss it in the slaw and this pineapple jalapeno slaw is perfect to serve with sandwiches and burgers.

Topping for burger. Drizzle this over burger as a final topping. This is our most favorite way.

Salad dressing. An enchanting hot and sweet salad dressing that is homemade is a pride moment.

Variations

Make a wing sauce. Cook this jalapeno pineapple sauce over low flame for 10-15 minutes until it thickens. Then dilute to a flowing consistency with water. Bring it to boil until it reaches the desired consistency.

This coats the chicken wings perfectly-a finger licking good. Moreover, you may use this as a glaze sauce as well.

Grilled pineapple. Gives a whole new look to this tropical hot pineapple jalapeno sauce. The grill makes the fruit's edges gets caramalised and this works well in here.
